OK- so my version of Cadence, Speed and Spin Ups. After yesterdays fast (fast for me :)) 68 miler today was a slow ride on our rails to trails. I use this time lately to torture myself :lol: by practicing spinning at a high cadence (90) and gettin my HR up. Today I met a friend - and we did a bunch of cadence drills, then I did what I think of as a spinup and saw that I really can't spin at 90 in the hard gears....but we did the best we could - that was hard. Then at one point 2 cute guys ride by and we decide to catch them... I figured just 2 avg bikers... well I huffed and I puffed - and I tried but alas had to let them go. I followed for a good while, stood up and pedalled, sat down and put hands in the drops...and whoosh 24 mph and those guys were not getting closer. Well ok they were really finally within reach...
(Back at the parking lot we met up with them and one was an Ironman the other a Cat 4...no wonder!) I think though the speed interval was good for me as well.
Anyway a fun ride. As I return home - I am reflecting on the summer. Gosh! I decided to buy a bike in May - first ride June 1! who knew!! I mean seriously - I am a cyclist!!
OK - Keep on pedalling. Back to the gym for the week - but will hit more rides next weekend.
