I've been looking for a Lotus mixte for some time now.... and I had enormous luck in bidding and winning an auction after one was ebayed after appearing in the discussions on this site:

Miraculously it all worked out because I ended up on a last minute trip to Virginia (to see my Dad) and was able to drive up and pick up the bike in Chantilly, Virginia. The seller is just a super great person who even drove out to meet me near the expressway. I felt guilty driving off with the bike -- it seems to me that nice bikes should stay with nice owners and we should just be rehoming those who have neglectful or otherwise endangering owners. . . but, that being said, I am
THRILLED
because, with exception of a some minor diminution in the decals, this bike is MINT and was freshly tuned up for the sale.
So, without further words... let me present, Miss Lotus Challenger (photographed prior to any clean-up/work):

I'm planning just a few changes:
She'll be getting this saddle:

a pair of Nitto Promenade or similar type bars, and some fenders....
any other recommendations?
