I dropped by MEC today and to my suprise, I found some Odi Rogue lock on grips for under $28 and an Aztek 185mm rotor for $31. (All prices in CAN) I brought it home and now I can't figure out how to attach it so it works on my bike. Will my 6" caliper adapter work or do i need the 8" adapter. Or does hayes make a 7" adapter?

Also for all the people with MEC stores near them, they will be carrying a whole bunch more bike parts this year.

Sorry man, you are SOL. To run Hayes brakes you will need to run a 6" or 8" rotor. I do not know of any adaptor to run a 7" rotor. If you are wanting to run a larger rotor and you have QR up front it just aint gonna happen.

I'd love it if I was wrong; but pretty sure I'm right :p

I am not sure if this is something that should be done, but maybe use the 6" adapter and stack washers on it, and then get longer bolts.

Kleins idea would work but the danger factor would be to high.

Don't worry about it, I returned the rotor. Any idea why rotors are so expensive? Aren't they just pressed steel? The cheapest 8" rotors I can find locally are $90CAN. Even bikeroom upped their prices to $70CAN. Anybody know where I can buy a cheap Hayes compatible rotor?

I was considering switching from my 6" rotors to 8". With the cost of the two rotors and adapters, it was going to cost close to $120. For that much money, my 6" rotors will do just fine thank you!

I am on the same spot more or less, 8" rotor plus adaptor are priced at 90-100$ for shimano XT in the UK.

Marzocchi UK assured me that the FR line of forks works flaulessly with 8" even on the QR versions as long as the qr is a good one (ie shimano) and is tightened properly.

Having said that, i dislike the idea of paying 90$ for just a rotor and an adaptor.
