Just installed it last night. Just playing with the functions in the garage, seems to be great. I'm very pleased with it. Going to give it a few hours test this Sat. but, I'm sure it'll get two thumbs up.

Just installed it last night. Just playing with the functions in the garage, seems to be great. I'm very pleased with it. Going to give it a few hours test this Sat. but, I'm sure it'll get two thumbs up.
I love the Flight Deck on my tandem. The things I like most are the gear indicator so that I can visually tell what cog I have the chain in and the virtual cadence. After coasting down a hill, I watch the virtual cadence. When it starts to approach something that I think we can pedal at in real life I know that it's time to start powering again.

Yup, that's what sold the unit for me too. I have not had much of a problem cross chaining or anything but, nice to know exactly where you are. New bike toys make life good.

Anyone know where the flight deck is available online? How much did you pay for it?

Yup, that's what sold the unit for me too. I have not had much of a problem cross chaining or anything but, nice to know exactly where you are. New bike toys make life good.
I love mine for the same reasons. My only problems are with the:
1. Sales approach, which requires one to buy the head unit and the sensor/harness assembly separately, yet the instructions for the head unit are packaged with the harness assembly. Turns out that they upgraded the head unit (even gave it a new model #), but the instructions were for the old model, so there were some differences, which caused programming confusion.
2. The instruction book could be written much clearer.
3. The computer does not wake up when the wheel starts spinning. It requires a button to be pushed to wake it up.
4. I haven't been able to figure out how to reset the computer when it is off the bike. Has anybody else figured out how this might be accomplished?
Even with the shortcomings outlined above, I still think the flight Deck is a great computer and I would not trade it for any other.

I bought two from Lickton's Cycle - www.lickbike.com. I shopped around and their prices were the best, plus they match prices less 11% of the difference from a competitor's price. I just went to their site and it is down for some reason, so try again in a while. I know they are still in business. I don't remember exactly what I paid, so just check when they get their site back up.
I am not related to this business in any way. Just a satisfied customer.

Ok, we got the chance to put 50 miles on our tandem Saturday. In just one ride I'll say that the FlightDECK is a thing of beauty for tandems. I learned that I am in fact spending too much time in adverse gear combinations. Meaning not quite cross chaining but, I needed to adjust my "normal" gear selections to a more drive train friendly combination. The gear indicator alone makes the expense worth it. It has a ton of other functions but, I'll not get into them as you can all look into it at your favorite LBS or on-line.
If any of you were considering getting one, go ahead on, they rock!
