Foo - Why did my cat eat the cookie?

I've heard animals will eat things because they're lacking something in their diet. Some dogs eat poo for that reason, cats eat grass to help their digestive system. So what is lacking in my cats diet to make her eat a frosted snickerdoodle? I mean, is it possible she's lacking cookies in her diet? Maybe she's lacking frosting? Should I smear a little frosting on her food? The frosting wasn't lard based and she actually ate the cookie as well as the frosting....Stupid cat.

I stopped asking the question of "why is my cat eating______?" a long time ago. Now it's just "get away from my food! It's not for you!" Last night, I went downstairs to get the laundry, I came back up to find that she had gotten to the fish on my dinner plate, I was not amused:notamused:.

We hide the bread in our house in the microwave, there's one cat that beelines for bread - even if you just happen to set the grocey bag containing the bread on the floor as you unload groceries. And she makes a mess of it -- mainly eating the center portion of it leaving the crusts in tact. :notamused: I've cleaned up more than my share of breadcrusts.

It was a sacrifice to basement cat...duh!

Growing up, we had a cat that would take and eat Golden Grahams cereal out of our hands. He'd eat as much as you would give him. I think more often than not cats want whatever it is you're eating even if it doesn't make sense for them to want it.

Well, it was fish covered with curry powder, dill and garlic. Not quite the normal cat fair. She'll also go for chips, pretzels, vanilla ice cream, honey nut cheerios, honey nut cheerios milk, any chicken, rice, coffee beans, watermelon, prosciutto, papaya...the list goes on.

no but my ex did (dog food anyway) - who used to stop over to the house after we were separated - and raid my fridge - or make some smart arse comment about how there was never anything in there - what do I do with my money blah blah - so I left a little bowl of my dog's Pedigree country stew in the fridge and he had that. He never made another refrigerator comment after that.:thumb:

Teh kitteh eats anything that I put on the floor or in his bowl for him. My motto is as long as it's not poisonous for teh kitteh, he can eat whatever he wants, be it gophers, grasshoppers, lettuce drizzled with sesame oil dressing, or sushi (even the rice and avocado parts).

My childhood cat went mad for cheezies. She'd bite your fingers to get to the cheezie powder.

She also loved cake and frosting.

When I say she "loved" and was "mad" for some non-cat food, I mean I'd end up scratched and bitten from my fingertips to my wrist. Great cat though. No sweet, no baked good was safe from her.

Was it your last snickerdoodle? I would be upset as well. Was it a "space" snickerdoodle?
