All set to buy a Trek 1500 then rode a Thunderbolt last night at my lbs. Same price as the 1500, all shimano 105. The bike seemed to ride better then the Trek, fit was to close to call.

So what do you guys think? The lbs says for the same price, they recommend the Airborne over the Trek. I'm a little concerned about the support from Airborne over the Trek.

Your opinions are appreciated.

I posted in another thread about a warranty frame replacement on an Airborne Zeppelin. Total turn around time was 10 days which included 2 weekends (I brought it in on a Saturday and picked it up on the 2nd Tuesday). That is pretty fast for a warranty replacement for a frame. Cost of swapping parts over was covered by Airborne and since I handled it through my LBS where I bought the bike there were no shipping charges. I am not familiar with the warranty for their Al bikes but I would think support would be the same. As long as they are still around when you need support.

I've never had to have a frame replaced, but their warranty is very good. Very nice with any questions as well. I would not hesitate to buy another Airborne.
