Foo - Do you ever...

Do you ever find yourself composing a response to a thread that you initially thought would be a witty diversion to those reading the thread in foo, only to realize that it was really just a useless waste of everyone's reading time? Something that grows to something far too long and tedious for the readers to be exposed to?

Come on, be honest! ;)

I compose at least a couple of messages per day for foo that start out as a nice idea that goes terribly wrong. Most of them I never post, and once in a while, I go ahead and edit them extremely to post them anyway.

So, who else has a mind that goes off on wild tangents?

I guess in some way, that is what Foo is all about, but in my case, I am wondering if my mind has too many tangents, and not enough cohesiveness.

Some examples of things that have gone terribly wrong was a message I just deleted that started out with I don't like Ranch dressing, and turned into a long message about how the aisles are full of Ranch dressing, and listing a fictional listing of 30 or 40 different variations of ranch dressing...

Does anyone else have a similar illness?

More often I start a thread start constructing it and realize that its too silly even for Foo.

yeah there are a couple a week that go by the wayside. sometimes because once i start it.. i get back to work.. and upon returning to and re-reading the composed thread, i realize how ridic it is.

if i wasn't so busy (aka had to work occasionally) I'm sure I'd fire them at will.

OK, at least I don't feel like I am the only one now.

BTW - Atrifice, I was in your neck of the woods last week and ate at someplace... but the name escapes me right now. it is a Pub right across from where the RNC was held, and I had a blackened pork chop. it was a very tasty (and affordable) dinner. It came with the option of a second chop, and I am sure glad I only got one. :)

And the italian sausage soup was great too.

to some of the mission statements of modern day global corporations, one would see that aside from the irrelevance of such a comparison, that there are in fact certain commonalities. To wit, here is Proctor and Gamble's.

As a result, consumers will reward us with leadership sales, profit and value creation, allowing our people, our shareholders and the communities in which we live and work to prosper.

Anyways, one must ask - how closely do any of the mentioned organizations actually live up to the words they put out front for public consumption.

For example, we could have lots of fun with mission statements for Napoleon, Oliver Cromwell, Nero, Hayden, Mozart, DaVinci, etc.

I just remembered, and it wasn't either of those. It was McGovern's I guess it is a little more kiddy corner than right across... I was thinking it was somehow a name that could have been political itself (although only coincidentally) but it wasn't coming to me.

We were staying at a hotel in Bloomington, but the guy I was traveling with had eaten there before and said it was worth the trip. He was right.

It was nice to see a lot more cyclists in that area than we see around this area. I saw more cyclists in the 3 days commuting there than I see in a month here.

Yes. I post anyways.

I edit by adding more stuff on my post after I posted it.

sometimes I just link them to the solution.
but if I feel like it I might type out a longer response.
the longer it gets, the less coherent it gets because I'm distracted usually.
