The new compact double is really nice - good combination with the 11/25 cassett.

That would be sweet but I have my eye on N+1 and if I get what I am looking for, I'll be hunting a set of vintage record components. I just love a classic Columbus steel bike. I may have to sell the Tarmac though - but it's only plastic.

Looks like a classic to me - I would charish that hunk of steel if it were mine. I would really like a beauty like that one but I tend to go after the small builders as many time people just don't know what they have and will let them go for a song. I picked my frame up in the mid 90's for $150.

I don't know that builder. By the lugs and stays, you can tell its a real nice frame.

Beautiful re-build. Did you have to cold set the chainstays, or did the new wheel drop right in?

Losing that gigantic dork disk was worth the upgrade.;)

The bike was built with a 130mm spread so it went right in - I upgraded from a 9 to a 10.

That is probably the largest dork disk I have ever seen. Someone should do a study regarding fashions in dork disks - how they bigger and smaller and then go away. Do you think there's a fashion correlation between the size of dork disks and the length of NBA players' shorts?
