While at the LBS tonight the clerk there said he heard Brooks were one of the best in the business but that they had finanical problems and were going out of business ! He would not elaborate on his sources but I just wondered if anyone else heard any similar information. Hope he is wrong, my B17 is so comfy now I may want another one someday! :(

Your LBS guy was probably referring to Brooks being bought out by Selle Royal back in 2002.

I beleive Brooks are part of Selle Royal , an Italian company ,they also make Fizik ( not sure of the spelling but you know who I mean ) & Lookin saddles .
www.selleroyal.com to look at their range of saddles as you will see the Brookes range are still as good as before!

Fixer; Appreciate the reply on that, I didn't know. Oh and BTW, I saw your post a couple weeks where you showed your B17 that you "butchered" as you put it, and was relieved someone else did that; ours look identical. The alteration has not affected the construction, looks like its a keeper. Might order another as a spare
