Fifty Plus (50+) - I have normal parents

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Do they shake their heads and say, "Where did we go wrong with junior?" That's what my parents did all the time, and they were normal.

They may appear to be normal but.....................if normal people rode bicycles, the world would be a much nicer place.

I'm not sure if the guy in the graphic is normal, but if riding bicycles makes the world a nicer place, there's reason for hope:

Does the article in The Economist say worldwide? If so, its probably because of China. That's where bikes are for transportation.

Great picture. I have a picture (somewhere) of my dad (now gone) riding my cousins Sting Ray bicycle with a banana seat, looking very happy. Hmmm. I think I need to track that picture down.

Define "normal".
That was my point. Bicycle riders (especially 50+ bicycle riders) are such a minority in this country that we hardly qualify as the norm. If we were IMHO the world would be a nicer place.
Now all you have to get is a definition of "nicer"...:)

Took me a few seconds....:roflmao2::lol::lol:
My dad rode his bike around the small town he lived in until he was about 82. He road to the bank, post office, my brothers for breakfast, etc. on a regular basis. He had an old fat tired cruiser with a big basket on the front. I wish I had taken a picture of him on it. I miss him.

Oh, I'm well past 50.:D What she should really do is to "flip the bars over", then she would really be in a good aero position.:D
You know,,, I'm just trying to help a fellow rider be more efficient.:innocent:
