My vote: Costco and $200-500

Damn dude! I dont use one because I cant get through the stuff I buy and I rarely ever cook at home.

None, all to crowded and more of a pain than they are worth. Also have trouble with a place that I have to pay in order to shop there.

They can definitely be a pain. I never ever ever even think about going on a weekend. I usually go on Monday afternoon after work at like 3pm. It's usually less than 5 mins to check out and it's not crowded with a sea of aimless people window shopping the 5-gallon jugs of shortening.

BJ's. Been a member since 1996. Used to buy cigarettes there, but quit 3+ years ago. I buy my contact lenses there now, the price is unbeatable. We do a lot of X-mas shopping there, also. We don't buy meat there, as our particular store just doesn't have good meat (unlike Costco, where my folks go--excellent meat).

As for being crowded, yes, its true. But I work nights, and usually do my shopping at a time when normal people are working.

When my wife and I go together, we generally spend over $100.

Crowded? Our BJ's? Only on weekends and about the 1st and 15th.

being the social-centered city girl that I am (and also not quite awake) I was thinking this was a poll on [dance]clubs in the warehouse district.

I'm a fan o' sams club though. I do live alone, so it doesn't benefit me much to have a membership though.

Costco. If need be, they have the best return policy on Earth. :)

Costco. Where I live, northeast of Seattle, Costco is the only warehouse club in town. BJ's is not in this area at all, and I think there are only three Sams Clubs in western Washington, none of them close to me.

My family is a member of both costco and sam's, and we DO spend less than $100 per visit. Of course, we visit every other week (six in the family + 2 "adopted" kids--teh bf and my family friend=a lot of mouths to feed), so we average around $150-200 per month.

Costco, I live 3 blocks away from one. There's three 40+ floor highrise above the Costco I primarily shop in, and there's a elevator people can take to get to the Costco below. There's also a transit hub 150 feet away from that Costco. Very convenient and urban.

Now that I live about 10 miles from Kirkland (Costco HQ), Costco. Gotta go with the local boys as they dominate here.

I spend about $200 every other week for groceries and what not.

Loved the riding in Seattle... went around the big lake a couple of times, once during a big ball game at the university.. very interesting bunch hehe..

I haven't actually been to that one, its just that I am that close to it. I'm in Bellevue, so go to one on the smaller lake (Issaquah) which is about 4 or 5 miles from me.

I'm allergic to big box stores.

The only one we have around here is Sam's, and it's a very inconvenient location for someone who is car free. Even if I could get to it, I doubt I'd go there anyway. I really never go to any of the big box stores.

if I had a bigdummy I'd do all my costco runs on it... well, I'd have to figure out how to carry ice cream and other frozen goods without it thawing too badly.

It's not much different than Kroger as far as the basic necessities go, but Kroger is easy for me to ride to and Sam's/Walmart/Target are not. I don't mind Target, but IMO Walmart is too big. Last time I went I think I walked 2.5 miles getting the things I needed. :lol: (Plus I had to ride through the bowels of Hell to get to it.)

You'll change your tune in about 2 weeks and a couple of days when you realize just how expensive diapers are.

I've never been to any of them -- I think only Costco is in Canada, but I could be wrong. The closest one is too far to ride and I really don't want to find myself leaving with several cases of snack food. But my best friend has a membership and has offered to drive me to one for the experience. I'll take her up on it closer to Christmas.

All warehouse clubs are a pain in the butt, and I try to avoid them. That being said, it's much cheaper to buy things in bulk (to whoever said diapers, YES!), so I grudgingly use Costco.

I try to not buy from Wal-Mart when possible, so I go to Costco. Sometimes in their coupon book, they have really good kick-butt deals on desktop PCs, so I just wait until that week comes and pick up something really decent, upgrade its RAM and possibly its video card, and I have my new gaming machine for the next year or two.

Costco is very competitive with the wages they pay their employees; definitely an OK place to work. I would shop there rather than anything related to Wal*Mart.
