I was looking at a tour route yesterday and noticed for the 1st time that google has added a walk there option in the get directions section. I tried it on the route I was looking at and was plesenty suprized by it. Wish they would add a bike option, anyone else tried it to fiind a route

It works pretty well, same as the Telenav on my Blackberry. Just divide the walk time by 3, and add twenty for potential hills

I came across this the other day too; it seems to be pretty decent but I'd like to hear back on any positive/negative experiences using it as a route builder for a tour.

I used it just last weekend for a 2 day tour around So Cal.I found that it worked fine.I'm not sure I would use it for extended trips but for a couple days it was fine.

What I did like, you could print the street directions, then add little close up maps next to the directions.

I tried using it to get from inner Baltimore to a bit west of the city last weekend. It had a few flaws, such as going the wrong way down one way streets, and sometimes choosing a route that had heavier traffic when a less trafficked route was available, but on the whole it is a good starting point to find a route.
