I want to dedicate an older bike I have to my computrainer, but it has a 27" wheel with a 27x1.25 tire on it.
I didn't see a tacx or conti training tire in that size. Any suggestions?

If you can find a 700c wheel with the same hub spacing (not the newer 8/9/10 speed spacing), then you can use that. Your brakes won't line up in the rear without long reach calipers, but you'll be able to put your choice of trainer tire on it.

I don't really want to buy another wheel. I guess I'll just use the tire that's on it until it wears out or try to find a cheap tire at LBS with little or no tread.

I save my old tires specifically for use as "trainer tires" in the winter.
Last year I did the same thing you are doing with my Le Tour. I just put on a tire that was a couple years old and saved my good tire for the spring.
So put on an old tire, or just use the current tire for the trainer (that'll turn it into an old tire) and buy a new one next spring.
