Do any companies make an extra small (42-44cm ) cross bike? Thanks.

You would probably be better off with a rigid mountain bike. 700c wheels don't pay well with small frames.

I don't understand.
I'm guessing shooter is eluding to a very possible toe overlap issue on a frame that small with the 700 wheels. My wife has an issue even on a 52 frame.
Might be worth looking for a frame that is designed for 650b or 26in wheels.

A frame that small requires 650c wheels. The selection of cross tires in 650c is very, very small. Like another member recommended, converting a mountain bike to cross is probably your best bet.
EDIT: The Surly Crosscheck comes in sizes down to 42.
Surly makes a 42 cm Crosscheck, but the TT length is around 51.

I think I'm just going to go with a Fuji Newest 1.0 at 43 cm. and put some 28 tires under it and let her try that. Surly only makes steel, and I'm not at all familiar with Redline - plus, it's pricey (Conquest Pro) to get a carbon fork - the reg. Conquest is all alloy. Thanks for any opinions...

Is there any way to adapt a reg. cross frame to take 575 hubs? I guess not, 'cause of the brakes...right? And, does anyone make a drop bar, road/cross frame that size? (for 575 hubs)? Thanks all...By the way, I did find out that Bianchi's Axis comes in 42cm, but it's not available 'til Jan., so we can't see the specs, colors, etc. AND we'd like to have one - riding it by yesterday, so...

By '650 wheels' I assume that is 575 hubs, right?
