This is important for me, no joking here.
In a couple of sentences, explain to me why you personally wear jewelry. Why do you like it? Why do you spend money on it?

Because they're women.

Oh wait, no joking? Crap.

Generally I wear it to accessorize an outfit. I have 3 holes in my ears and they look better with stuff hanging off of them.

hmmm. well, this is what i wear and why...
- silver thumb ring - i wanted one and purchased it after passing the PE exam for engineers. i just think thumb rings are cool/sexy.
- class ring from ncsu - another representation of all the hard work i did to get to where i am in my career.
- necklace with Taz - Taz was given to me by my now current ex - he said it represented my personality at the time. it still does. :D
- earrings - dunno...first ex said he'd buy me diamond earrings if i got my ears pierced. i was 18 at the time. i did and he did. i've always worn earrings since then....
any more is for accessorizing....

I wear my wedding ring because I'm married.
When I was pregnant and my hands were swollen, I wore it on a necklace that my husband gave me.
Any other jewelry I wear (which isn't much, because Ms. Fussy Butt is still in her grabby stage) is only for special occasions, and usually very minimal. I have my ears pierced; one hole in the left ear and three in the right, so I usually wear hoops in the bottom holes and little shiny studs in the extra right ear holes. Earrings, wedding ring, and one other piece of jewelry work just fine for me when I'm dressed up.

I like the way they look.
I have a coral and turquoise necklace I bought while some scumbag was busy stealing my bike. I call it the most expensive $20 necklace I ever bought.
i hardly wear any...I have a topaz (birthstone) ring that I wear, and a plain silver band...

That is what I hear.
The right jewelery on women definitely adds to the appeal.
Timmyq, care to share why so important? Not trying to be a jerk, you just piqued me curiosity.....
Not a woman of Foo, but I have three younger sisters. They routinely wear diamond stud earrings because their older brother gave the earrings to them.

I would have to kill you. Are you ok with that?

Well, upon careful reconsideration of the variables, risk level and potentially catastrophic consequences, I am constrained to conclude I am simply and unequivocally not quite that curious.

I wear four things:
A ring around my neck because it represents the fight to go forward during my cancer screening.
A rubber Livestrong bracelet and a pink rubber "Strength" bracelet for the same reason.
A ring that matches my bike because it means "tough, strong, durable and lasting".
oops. More than two sentences. Sorry.
I don't as it just seems to get in the way. Maybe a hemp necklace and a stud in my ear cartilage.

I have a Mexican bracelet with Arroz on it because it is awesome. I have a ring on my middle finger because ...I really don't know I feel bare if it isn't there. Last I have a golden shark tooth on my necklace because it is shark. Oh right earrings, umm the holes were just there.
I'd say my biggest reason is that it makes me feel more feminine.

i only wear jewerly that has a personal connection.....either made by me or made by and given to me by a good friend/S.O.
.
....not the only reason I like dating/living with artist's though :innocent:
My wife rarely wears jewelry. I am under standing orders NOT to buy her any. Imagine that?

Star Trek geek that I am, I have a Bajoran earring that I usually wear around Halloween, or to really important engineering meetings at work.

Well I'm a dude but I wear earrings.
Two left and one right. I normally wear two studs in the left and a dangling (stud w/chain and cross) on the right. This is on my personal time not at work/school.
Reason? Ummmm I guess I like the way it looks.
Just some feedback from the jewelry-wearing male population.
Dude, don't mess with Tim:innocent:
I finally crossed the threshold into old fartdom when I crawled into student teaching after a particularly late night and realized I'd forgotten to remove assorted metal objects from my person...had wondered why the cooperating teacher was staring at me angrily...I think they never went back in after that....

I wear jewelry because I like shiny, dangly things.

because I am ballin.
I'm not a huge jewelry or accessory person, and I'm more apt to buy things that are interesting, and thus short-lived fashionably. Good jewelry (i.e. small stash from the exes, a few nice pieces from my parents, and inheritance from my grandparents) I usually wear on special occasions to feel fancy :)

Yeah, I like interesting things too. I have a pair of grand piano and violin earrings, and I'm trying to save up to buy more bike-shaped and instrument-shaped jewelry.

I rarely wear any jewelry. My mom's bought me rings, bracelets, watches, necklaces (and quite a few crucifixes), and earrings. I wear none of them. They sit in a locked drawer. I worry about losing them, I don't really like jewelry. My husband is also under orders not to buy me jewelry.

I like wearing earrings - they make me feel more feminine - but also generally annoying, so I only wear them when I am going out.
I have a couple rings/braclets that I wear sporadically.
I am almost always wearing a necklace though. Many different styles, some dressier than others, but all have a story with them. Today's is an "I'm sorry your bikes got stolen" necklace from a friend.

Partly accessorizing, but for me it's more the personal connection.
I usually only wear a couple of things, I don't have pierced ears and most bracelets don't fit me.
I have a black star sapphire ring that I had custom made for me, I already had the stone, it was from my ex-husband (from Thailand) but I really didn't like the setting. I had the ring done when I was newly single and to me it represents being happy on my own. :)
I also have a necklace I picked up in Sweden, it's got a Viking symbol on it that supposedly represents inner strength.
I have a few other things that I seldom wear.

My husband loves to buy me jewelry. I love to wear it.
We get earrings for me on every trip we take. The earrings remind me of where we've been, the fun we've had, and the love we have for each other.

I'm not trying to be overly forward, but I am wondering why jewelry does not fit you.
Are you very, very tiny, very, very large, or something altogether different?:thumb:
And to this thread, male, had earrings, all I have now is a big ass watch band and a wedding ring, (and scars, they count too, right?)

I'm just posting to note that "Jewelry" is misspelled in the title. :p

I have little wrists, so unless the bracelet has links I can have taken out, I am usually out of luck.
