SDR-SW20 (http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/shop/Cameras-Camcorders/Camcorders/Hard-Disk-Drive/SD-Camcorders/model.SDR-SW20R_11002_7000000000000005702) VS ATC5K (http://www2.oregonscientific.com/shop/product.asp?cid=6&scid=14&pid=896)

I need this soon, so that's already a point for the SDR-SW20.

I also want to use this when hiking.

The pro of the ATC5K is that it should mount without much difficulty on my Montague Paratrooper. The Panasonic probably has better video but I'd have to tape it down with 100MPH tape and paracord, probably.

Any advice?

For the ATC5K I would wait till I could see some reviews about the battery life. I have the older ATC2K and only gives me about 90 minutes per pair of AA batteries. the 5K, with the extra lcd screen might suck more power.
