I want to hear her pronounce hundred: "hunnerd"
Example:
"We's goin' down the road 'bought a hunnerd mile an hour..."
Oh, this is SOOOO wrong.
Oh, I pronounce hundred like, "hunderd".

I really wanted to hear "I reckon....", but since that wasn't an option, I chose "Fixin' to". :)
Come on April!!!!!
I reckon... that would have been a good poll option.. it's too bad they don't let you go back and edit them :(
What just occurred to me is that it would be really funny if she were to play the part of the Mom in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
:D
You bastids are actually rooting for me to start talking funny?! This is just... sooo wrong. I don't hear people say "fixin' to" enough for it to ever catch on! Or any of the others, for that matter. "I got me some taters over yonder!" Yeah, just doesn't fit. :D

I think "fixin' to" is the next step in the progression, and will be just as involuntary as y'all, so that was my vote.
sho nuff...
we visited friends in NC recently - he's a native, very slight twang, almost imperceptible (to me, anyway). She's from New England, but been down there almost 10 yrs now.
first night we were there everyone overindulged in spirits and as hair was let down, some absolut twang came out of her bahhstun mouth.
When I mentioned noticing this, she was mortified....

I know what I'd really like to hear her say....but I fear retribution from Ravenmore if she were to say it. :D
My cousins (from NYS) moved to Tuscaloosa - and they returned to visit 6 months later.
And they were already "turned".
Not only was I able to finish their sentences they talked so slow but they used alllll the local words listed above and more.

I'd love an excuse to say "over yonder". But I'm no where near the American south. I can "tater" if we had tater tots for supper, but we never do (boo!). I'm not allowed to speak with a southern accent, it annoys my husband no end (it is really bad - heh heh!).
"Hey pheard let me hold you, please caress my body, you got me going crazy, pheard you turn me on, turn me on!!!!"

"Ever day"
What it means: "Every day"
Yes, people actually say this.
You left off "Kiss mah grits" wherein grits is polysyllabic.

Does her hair have to be up in a bun when she says this?
Ah thank the nex thang she is fixin' ta say is "fixin' to."
After we moved to Texas, a Texan told me "A cat may have kittens in the oven but that don't make 'em biscuits." I'm still not sure what that means but it may apply to April.
You bastids are actually rooting for me to start talking funny?!
Of course we are.:p Next will be bets on how soon you start talking funny.
