I have a 2007 Felt F1X.

It has what I think you call a semi integrated headset.

Would a Chris King headset work on my bike?

Nope. Quick rule of thumb: If you can't see any headset bits between the fork crown and the headset, it's either integrated or internal, and CK doesn't make either.
