Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just curious as to how old people that ride SS/fixed are. Feel free to post your age, but what i'm really interested in is the average, so get voting. For the record, I'm 20.

35 years young! Sorry, i hate that phrase please line up and club me.
Just looking at the numbers we seem to cover a wide variety of ages and then of course at 65 your knees fall off and you stop riding.

I hope this is not true, and if it is, I am going to have to have one hell of a bike sale in 3 years.

I have had that happen to me by even younger girls when i was stalking them, i mean. LOL No actually, i had some yell at me when i was riding around with my shirt off last summer and I had to yell back,"Fat guys need luv too!"

Gentlemen and gentle ladies-
You can add me to the currently null group. I'm 66, but don't look a day over 75. One's knees don't collapse at 65 from riding fixed, but I can't vouch that it won't happen at 67, but at least i'll have a summer of FG riding.
42/15 and loving it.

30 here. Let's trade spring breaks. You put on my tie and sit in my office. Say "Use Fedex" and "that's not exactly true" a lot. I'll go to Florida and get buck wild. We'll call it an internship.

Note to self, befriend FGH, and culminate in huge bonus in 3 years.
Why does the original poster want to know how old we are?
Cheap data pull? Marketting ploy?

24 and "enjoying" a 1/4 life crisis or something ;)
but, the poll - "17-24" come on! That includes two major milestones! 18 and 21... that's a big range... should be 0-17, 18-20, 21-30, 30-49, 50+ ;)
0-17: Can't drink, smoke, gamble or enjoy most constitutional protections
18-20: Can smoke, gamble and get drafted
21-30: Now you can self-medicate, ERRR, legally drink.
30-49: Can't be trusted anymore.
50+: Sage

If you play your cards right, kids, you can work for a living and still have a spring break. Mine's in two weeks, right after payday.
oh, and I'm 27. The fixie is only a coupla months old, though.

Just wondering, why FedEx as opposed to UPS? Curiousity kills, I work for FedEx.

Well, I've got almost 24 hours before I turn 37, though I still get carded. Not the right quiz, I guess.

I could also use a swap out here...all you have to say is "You'll need to call the Manufacturer on the type of configuration" and "No, not cellular wireless, but 802.11 wireless."
I'll see you on the beach Superchivo.

It needs some kind of Windows Media Player codec to play. I had to install the plugin on Mozilla FireFox. I'm not sure if other browsers are supported (like MACs).

I just found out that your knees don't fall off at age 65. What you have to do is sell all your fixed gear bikes and by a free style bmx bike and enter the
x-games. Whew, thats a relief.

47, soon to be 48. It's funny but I still feel young. It's only when I see a picture of me I feel old. It's like "Who's that old dude"! Ha! Oh yeah, from another thread, I like to run also. No knee problems yet.

i'm starting to think that all this "fixed gears will ruin your knees" garbage is just that...i mean, pro track racers don't have knee problems, right? personally, i think just walking arounf is harder on my knees than riding a bike...
