My wife and I spent a couple weeks this August riding a loop ride from Eugene up the valley, to the coast, down the coast, back to Eugene and back up the valley. It was great. I just posted the journal at crazyguy. http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/gregstandt.
Thanks to everyone who responded to my questions during the planning stages, it helped alot with the route.

Greg,
I really enjoyed reading your CGOAB journal for a number of reasons. Your tour is set in and around my regular solo and club rides in the mid-Willamette valley (in and around Albany/Corvallis), my wife and I own red and yellow Bike Fridays (Pocket Crusoes), and we are planning our own ride one of these days from Corvallis to the coast, down to Florence and back via Eugene. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
I also enjoyed your trip blog Greg, looks like a great time!
For future reference, from the coast to Eugene I stay off Highway 126, especially from Veneta to Eugene.
I prefer Highway 36 from Mapleton east to Lawrence Road which turns into Clear Lake road and into Eugene. If you do get into Veneta, go to the south of Veneta on Central Road, then Petzold road, Crow Road then into Eugene, it's a very nice way to avoid 126.
