Hello people,

Where can I find the local and more frequent crits in the Phoenix/East Valley area? Azcyling only shows stuff on the weekends that is generally within 200 miles. I just want to get my feet wet in racing. I've heard there is some race that takes place on wednesdays at night somewhere, but I can't find anything about it. Anyone know?

Danke schon,
Matt

You're hearing about the Phoenix Crit Series which is already done for the season, it runs from February through April.

It's on the AZCycling calendar, but only for the months that it runs. You can get specific information about it here :

It upsets me that a state which offers year round riding only has 3 months of racing.

Do you have any idea what goes into organizing a race series? The work that the organizer has to do every week so that you can ride in this series for three months? This is one particular series, not representative of the road racing season as a whole, the road racing season is Arizona starts in January and goes through the end of September. If that's not enough then the cyclocross and mountainbike season runs during the off season.

If that's not enough for you then I recommend you become active in ABRA and your local bike teams so you can start organizing your own races.
