i am riding in the city. i need bright lights for a 1 hour commute (each way). i prefer to keep it priced as low as possible. not sure if a self charging hub is the way to go or just use batteries and a light.
my goal is to keep it as simple, cost effective and bright as possible. basically i want it all and i want it for nothing :) seriously though, first concern is safety and brightness, second is ease of use and third is cost. thank you.
curious if some people can make some recommendations. thanks very much.

I've had good luck with the Cyglolite Pace 135 http://www.performancebike.com/shop/profile.cfm?SKU=25913&estore_ID=1840 Which is on sale for $69 at Performance.
1. Get a P7. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13060
2. Get batteries. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5790
3. Get a charger. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4151
4. Get a mount. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8274
Total cost is about $63. For that amount, you'll have brighter lights
(500 lumens) than you can buy for up to $500 without DIY fuss.
