The weather here has been so nice with clear blue skies and low humidity and temps in the low 70’s. I made it a point to take advantage of the weather and ride, ride, ride….
the leaky toilet and the dripping kitchen sink are going to have to wait.

The first segment of the ride took me East across the Genesee River through the residential neighborhood of Irondequoit, which was an extremely peaceful and pleasant ride. Traffic was light And those that were out were very courteous. Heading back to my own neighborhood I traversed the entire length of the Irondequoit Lakeside Trail (about 5 miles).

Below is a picture of yours truly taking a leisurely break in the woods along that trail.

Then it was back across the river and into Ontario Beach Park. The first order of business was to ride out to the end of the pier shown below. It’s exactly 1 mile (total out and back) and it’s amazing how different the temps can be ½ mile out into Lake Ontario.

Of course once out to the end of the pier there’s many distractions to help one such as I to hang around for a bit. What’s bluer (sp?); my bike, the water, or the sky?

Through the marvels of cellular communication, my bride and I met up for lunch near the lake after which she went shopping and I continued riding. I headed up the Genesee River Trail, another of my favorite neighborhood MUP’s. I snapped a few pictures of some waterfowl. The one below I almost deleted at home due to poor focus….until I spied what the ducks may have been looking at.

O.K. Heron, we’ve got you surrounded!

After the river trail I looped through the Greece neighborhoods along interstate 390.
I’m not berry smart but I did see these growing on a chain link fence. The berries are about the size of a large ball bearing.

Nice shots Cranky! I particularly like the surrounded heron.

I was down that way last night. My niece bought her first house and had a housewarming. It's right down by Turning Point. So naturally I took Fallenson to Boxart to the MUP when I left. It was the first time I didn't have to contend with fishermen, dogs and peds on the boardwalk bridge. Of course it was well after dark. Very nice ride with my lights blazing.

Came up by River St, crossed the O'Rourke bridge, then climbed Thomas Ave to St. Paul for the ride back to the city. Nice night for a ride, it was.

That looks and sounds like a perfect ride on a perfect day. Thanks for sharing, the pics were great. You were smart to enjoy the great weather, unfortunately we all know what is coming.

Man I can just smell those grapes! One of the reasons riding a trainer insides is such a drag is that you can't smell some of the great things in nature to smell. Just one questions, you said you took advantage of the weather to ride, ride, ride... yet the first picture shows you in a riding position with which I'm not familiar.;)

Pretty much the same position whether he is on or off the bike.
