...I were to carry around a small airhorn the next time in Vegas?

Many pedestrians seem to have no awareness of their surroundings or that there are other people around them wanting to get places too, yet they're in one of the heaviest foot-trafficked cities in the world. I'm thinking the airhorn would wake them up and clear me some space to get by them.

Anything you want to do in public and wonder if it's legal?

It's not illegal to walk your bike with pedestrians.

It's not illeagal to have an audiable device on you bicycle. It may be different if you carry it on yourself.

The Zounds air horn would be a good way...

Some states actually require it. New Jersey statute, for example, provides, "A bicycle must be equipped with a bell or other audible device that can be heard at least 100 feet away, but not a siren or whistle."

I haven't checked to see if Nevada has a similar provision.

Just don't shower and get a handful of those porn flyers, and all the people on the strip will get out of your way as you approach them.

It might be disturbing the peace. Then again, that may not apply in the night-time.

Oh, I was actually talking about when I was walking. It's easy enough to avoid pedestrians in the street, just when they're walking, they tend to be a bit distracted.

A couple times I felt like shouting "WATCH OUT!" in a panicked voice, but somehow I doubt it would've helped. The density of some people is nigh inconceivable.

Then definitely the La cucaracha air horn is necessary.

If walking around with airhorns were illegal then all those one man bands with drums, trumpets, cymbols and stuff would surley be illegal. Give it a try. :)
