Well, when my wife decided that she wanted to start riding too, and bought at Trek 2000, I never figured she would get as into the sport as I have.
She started riding in October 2003, and as of yesterday she has completed her first century.
She was going to "add" some miles yesterday. Well, when I finished my metric, I called her and her along with one of her other club riding buddies were adding some miles to the metric. Well, I went out and met her. I did a little calculation and realized I would only be 4 miles short of a century and asked if they would come along with me to do the extra four. The buddies bailed at their 85 mile mark and she got the idea....I want to make it a century!
Well, with a 15.3 average and about 6.5 hours she finished her first 101 mile ride.
Going out and meeting her also made for my longest ever ride - 121 miles! (18.9 avg..)
I am so proud of her!
