I'm leaving for my first tour in one week. It will be 400 miles on all paved roads, and I'm hoping to average 50-60 miles per day. I was wondering what people do with just a few to go. I rode about 200 miles this week. Should I ride everyday next week? Every other day? Take the week off and sit in front of the TV eating potato chips? Your input is greatly appreciated.

Don't sweat it!

Just ride as you feel like it. 50-60 miles a day is not a big deal if you set off early each day, take your time, enjoy what you see and what you do, and get into your digs before sunset.

There are some (and I have done it, too) who ride themselves into a tour. If you did 200 miles this week, you'll be fine riding into your tour, too.
