Well after reading this forum I am now in trouble.
I completed my first century a couple of weeks ago, and really enjoyed it, as well as the training that went into it.
So as I live on Vancouver Island where it is known to rain alot I decided I needed a bike with fenders and bigger tires so I can continue training over the winter. My Giant TCR 1 goes really fast but I don't want to ride it in the rain especially with the gravel that accumulates on our roads.
I mentioned to my wife that I needed a new bike, she somehow thought that I didn't need it as much as I did.
Anyways after more talking I am now the proud owner of a 2008 Giant TCX 0. I had them put fenders on and took it out today for a ride. It was so much fun, it goes pretty fast, has a more secure feel than the road bike.
In fact I took it down a nice little gravel pathway and was having way too much fun until I was crossing a wooden bridge with leaves on it. Everything was wet and before I even realised what was happening, I was laying on the wood, still clipped in and thinking why do my ribs hurt?
Still nothing large quantities of Ibuprofen and whiskey can't handle.
Riding bikes makes me feel like a 12 year old again. Not bad as I just turned 49.
Anyways I blamed it all on you folks, : )

Cheers

Paul

Still hurting and smiling at the same time.
