Here's my rig, 2003 DiamondBack sorrento. I'm doing a fairly major upgrade, new disk brakes, new hubs, rims, and most importantly to me, a new fork. I want something with a nice travel (doesent have to be too big) and one that won't leave my wallet too empty. Suggustions?

I wouldn't recomend anything with more than 100mm of travel, Maybe, I mean maybe 110mm. More than 100 will start to negatively affect your handling!

The Black is a good fork!

diamond back, i saw that fork for 200 dollar CAD! Also saw a duke XC and a Mars Mx com/eta. All three for 200 CAD which is dirt cheap. Thats how I got my MX comp/eta

check ebay too...some of those "stores" have 2003 closeout stuff - new but closeouts for less than $200...Manitou Blacks, Marzocchi's...rarely ever see Fox tho...

Is the Sorrento frame capable of handling disk brakes? I heard that some frames have broken as a result of the additional torque. This is purely annecdotal though, it hasn't happened to anyone I know, but most my friends are still riding older v-brake equipped bikes.

^ Well, i know physically it is capable, because it has all the brackets and everything built on the frame. So all i need is some new hubs!
