Advocacy & Safety - CTC - UK - Learning to drive paper

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

For a discussion on driving tests and learning to drive log on to http://www.ctc.org.uk/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabID=5129, and click on to the Word doc. towards the bottom of the page.

I offer this up in response to the many comments made about the appalling quality - and beliefs - of many US drivers, e.g. in Florida. It's not about the mechanics of the driving test, but about the change needed in the understanding about cycling of new (and existing) drivers.

The paper now has a permanent place on my HD

With any luck, the kids who made up the 54, 61 and 60 attendances at our club for the last 3 weeks (smug, but major management problems/nice-to-have nightmares), may have a safer and better educated environment to ride in.
