So, I jammed down to the LBS, and they threw my Bianchi Pista on the scale. 20lbs even. That includes a front brake, two 'thorn-proof' (i.e. heavyweight) tubes, Cateye taillight, and the mount for the headlight. Not bad considering my previous bike was a 40lb.+ (with commute gear) Peugeot.
Has anyone else weighed their bike? Whatcha got?

I weigh under 150 and need a sweet lady to cook too many pasta dinners for me.

Then I'll buy a 40 lbs FS bike.

I know my Fort is pretty light, but I've no idea how to weigh it (the only scales I have are bathroom and kitchen).

Take your bathroom scale to where your bike is. Weigh yourself, then weigh yourself holding your bike. The difference between the two is the weight of the bike.

Just did an accurate weighing of 20.5 lbs :mad:
Where's my hacksaw-gonna chop something off! :D

It runs the gamit.

My fixed Slingshot is 16.4 with pedals and front brake.
Habanero Ti road bike is 17 even with pedals.
Paramount track w/pedals is 19.6.
My revived 62 Raleigh 3spd (converted to fixed) is a bit over 23.

-but I did kinda notice with bikes you jump with you have to come up with the right front\rear weight balance.
A mtb with a too light rear is useless downhill.

Found the bathroom scales, totally inaccurate but I think it's around 17lbs. I reckon I could shave off quite a bit by removing the front brake, computer, freewheel, bottle cage and fitting lighter pedals, forks, seat/post, cranks etc.
