I have a hybrid with mini v-brakes and need to change worn down pads. The rims are 700c, so should I buy MTB pads or road pads. Does the contour difference for brake pads between the two rim sizes even matter? thanks.

The contour won't make a huge difference, but the mounting will. You need v-brake pads.

I was searching and didn't find what i needed, but this thread seems the closest thing.

I have a Specialized cyclocross bike (the Tricross) which has "Forged linear pull brakes w/ cartridge pads". These are really cool, as they are so easy to adjust and keep aligned to the wheel (the multiple concave/convex adjustable washer setup on the more basic brake shoes always get the best of me). However, i'm new to cartridges and see references to Avid style and Shimano style. How many different cartridge designs are there, and how can i know which mine are? The pads are getting a bit worn, and i'd like to put in some Kool Stops pads, if possible, anyway.

Thanks in advance for your help.
