Can anyone tell me what brand spokes are marked with an "R"? They are on a set of vintage track wheels.

I would expect that to be Robergel. They left the business in the 70s, and DT only entered the spoke market to fill the void left by their absence. Really.

I'm a little murky on whether Trois Etoiles was their double butted spoke (marked with three tiny stars) or whether it was another manufacturer. It has, after all, been a while.

Are they magnetic or not? Shiny or not? IIRC they were SS, but not as good an alloy as DT used. Pre-DT, SS spokes had the reputation of being brittle, but that may be including Union spokes as well.
