Hi,
I'm riding Marin Nail Trail '02, and my fork broke down (manitou six super 85mm travel). I am rather heavy (105kg, I think it's around 210 lbs) and would like to buy stronger fork. I was thinking about getting a Marzocchi dirtjumper3 (110mm travel) or drop off 2 (130mm travel). Would that affect my geometry in some way, or would my frame break? Some people have told me to get MX (comp or pro), but these forks too have 105-120mm travel so why couldn't I put DJ3? My riding style is a mixture of everything from xc to some jumping around (not too big drops though) and I don't ride uphill much.

P.S.
I don't mind greater weight.

Thanx in advance,
Vox

That bike was designed with a 80mm travel fork. When you upgrade, I wouldn't recommend any more than 100mm of travel, more than that and your bike will start riding like a chopper. The DJ series is like 130mm which is overkill for your bike. The MX series is better suited to your frame. Also, the Manitou BLACK with adjustable travel 80-100 is a good fork. The Rock Shox Duke with variable travel isn't bad for the money!
