My 10 year old grand daughter had a birthday party Sunday at the local roller skating rink. I wasn't planning to skate, but after she told me I didn't know how, I had to take up her challenge. At the first 2 or 3 laps I was beginning to think she was right, but after a few more laps it began to come back to me. I was skating like a pro in a little while. I had not skated in close to fifty years. I never did fall and I'm glad I didn't. Would have probably broken something. I guess its like riding a bike - you don't ever forget.

Or, you never learn.... I've never been able to skate on wheels or on ice with blades. Glad you had a good time with your grand daughter. My father skated at a roller rink on a weekly basis well into his 70's... even after a knee replacement. I think it helped keep in young not just in a physical sense, but mentally too. There were always lots of young people around, many of them becoming friends over time.
