I am a road and mtn bike racer and a buddy of mine was telling me about a ton of BMXers who are making their way to the road and mtn bike world. I thought I would reverse field and at age 31 give BMX racing a try.

I have a new S works Hemi frame and I have it mostly set up. I know from mtn bikes that tires are a big difference maker.

What tires do you recomend for bmx racing and why?

hahaha.....I can't even understand why people buy all of these new tires...there's nothing wrong with Tioga Comp IIIs.... I tried other tires from time to time on my race bike like some richey speedmax tires and nothing ever really proved useful....though the speedmax tires eventually ended up proving somewhat useful on a track that had concrete turns due to their low rolling resistance.....I never found a tire I liked more though, and I rode almost of the new ones that came out....I must say though, the maxx daddys and the holy rollers have been out for quite some time now, I remember having a set around 99 or so

i would suggest maxxis holy rollers their made specialy for dirt/racin...they r really good for the concrete turns...
