I wasn't going to make the trip from Charlottesville for this one... but then I read that it had stream crossings and is really pretty. Any ideas? This would be my season opener this year (in C) and the big baptism of fire for my Raleigh :)

Depending on how much work my girlfriend has to do, I might come out.

If she is going to be super busy and won't be able to hang out, I'll be there.

If she has no work at all, I might be there.

If she only has a little work and can hang out with me, I'll only be racing Saturday at BCA.

And here I thought working around my kids' schedules was tough.

Well, she only wants to race one race this weekend I think. Freelance or race is the question. After seeing those videos, my interest has increased.

Well, how did it go? I had a good time. I also found out where the traction limits for my tyres lie after sliding out on the fast right hander. Oops! I couldn't believe the number of people bunny hopping the barriers either. Anyway, it was worth the trip. South Mountain Creamery made the trip extra-worthwhile :)

First time ever going over the barriers, it feels pretty rad.
Definitely not the smoothest or fastest way necessarily though, I just had to succumb to the announcer begging for somebody to do it lap 2.
I didn't bring my camera today unfortunately, but we got little Justin from NCVC to bunnyhop off the rock today. It was awesome. Definitely the better of the 2 races this weekend.

Riskus, thanks for keeping my calm when the stream crossing logs bumped my chain off. I need you to follow me around the course and stay in my head like that, it helped.

^^^^ yeah... but you made it look good, dude. awesome job.

i had a good start and was sitting 5th wheel or so in the first batch of turns after the first log crossing when a guy on my left went down and slid into my line. i went into his rear wheel and down and i think i was sitting in last when i got going again. i worked stupid hard and rode really sloppy but managed to work my way back up to finish 9th.

that was a fun weekend, but i can't wait til this coming weekend. :):):)
