:O
Dude..don't do it. If you want a dc go for a jrT...
Monster will destroy the geometry of the bike. I know a kid with one on the stuff and it is horrible. It also voids the warranty and is not recommended as it will destroy your headtube.
Shiver is a better solution but I go for a 6in dc...Shivers are 7 if I remember and built for racing...since you seem to want to be a hucker try jr't or the superT and save your money for something else.
Dude, don't run a DC on a hardtail...

how much r they and what year?
Damn, I dunno. Do your own research! Around 350 bucks is what you're looking at. Here are some links to some popular retailers.
www.jensonusa.com
www.supergo.com
www.pricepoint.com
www.123bikes.com
www.cambriabike.com
www.airbomb.com
www.nashbar.com
www.performancebike.com
If you can't find what you want at one of those links, you suck at the internet.

I am not against a dc on a ht. I have seen many and think they work welli in the right circumstance. JrT is jsut that...the Juniour version of the monster. In reality the monster is more like a steroid pumping grandfather as it is way toooooo much for 99% of the riders out there.
Exactly, there might be guys with steel balls riding around that can justify a DC fork on a hardtail, but this guy is obviously not one of them. Nor is his bike up to the task.

Yes...6.5 inches on the front is fine and will be MORE than enough travel. In reality you could probably get away with a good 4 or 5 inch fork to start to play on. Leave the monster t's for the guys doing 40 ft hucks.
Yeah, I say 5 inches is more than enough travel for a beginner. I think once he starts seeing prices he might decide he doesn't need so much fork.

kk i might get 03 z1 dropp off or shiver Sc
I'd suggest the Z1. I think you'll be happy with either fork, though. I've *HEARD* the Shiver SC is pretty flexy.

Depends on his size. The Shiver it good if you are like 150 and under.
