I am just getting into this mountain biking thing and i want to find some quick release tires that wont break my pocket, any suggestions?

what is a quick release tire? do you mean wheels with QR axles? Check ebay, performancebike.com has some inexpensive ones to.

Easy guys, don't be too harsh on the new guy. Remember back when you didn't know all the names.
Now, Sunshinemtb, a couple of questions. I'm assuming you don't need disc hubs. What is Not Much to you? Under a hundred? Not much to me is under $500, so it's all relative.
I've seen some killer deals on wheelsets at www.supergo.com and www.jensonusa.com
Now, remember that you will also need a cassette. The multiple gear cluster thingy on your back wheel. Usually if you buy it at the same time, they'll install it for you.
That brings up a very important question. Are these wheels to replace some existing ones? If so, you'll have to buy the right ones. Count the number of cogs on your existing bike. Most likely there will be 7, 8 or 9 cogs on the cassette. If your existing wheel is a 7, you'll need a 7 speed cassette and a spacer. If 8 or 9, you won't need the spacer.

If your bike came with bolts, it's a sure sign that it's not a very good bike. A set of wheels/tires will easily cost you about $150. Once you hit the trails, you're bound to find other pieces of your bike that aren't up to snuff.
I would recommend buying low-end recreational mountain bike. You'll get a new, upgraded set of components out of the box. Save your old bike for running around town (thereby saving your dirt tires from pavement wear).

Your present axle can be threaded out and replaced with quick release axle, A hollow tube the Q-release runs trough.
A set of the Q-release are under $20, the front is o.k to do yourself, rear ask the Lbs to do.
Not sure what the axle shafts go for. I believe this is possible as I at one time was going to have the Lbs remove my rear Q-release for a solid shaft.
Or am I totally missing the question?
