Should work fine for urban stuff and DJing, but I'm not sure it would be that great for trail riding (heavy).
I wish I would have orig. gotten an Opie for plain old trail riding back when I started. It would have made me less afraid of damaging my equipment and more able to concentrate on having fun.
Granted, if you're gonna race or get all "weenied out" on XC'ism...you may wanna look elsewhere.

It's a very beefy frame: welds are overdone, reinforced in key areas, frame is very "sturdy". When I worked at a Trek dealer, we generally sold the Opie to kids looking to beat the crap out of it around the neighborhood. Also would work well as an urban bike or mountain bike for a heavier rider.
