I'm in the market for a professional looking messenger bag / briefcase. Needs to go with my suit but I'm still looking to maintain some Rivendell/Jitensha/Velo-Orange-esque flavor. All I could find was:

Brooks Barbican

$449 YIKES!

Minnehaha

Close, but not quite there. I'm looking for something more along the lines of the Brooks. Price is good.

Anything else out there that anyone knows of?

my first bag preference is always Dakine. A quick search reveals a couple possibilities:

Dakine Medic-Bag (http://www.dougsports.com/detailsdetails/DaKine/16532/DAKINE-Medic-Bag)

Dakine Station Bag (http://www.dougsports.com/detailsdetails/DaKine/12679/DAKINE-Station-Bag)

Both come in a few colors and are priced well. they're not exactly brooks knock-offs but they're nice bags.

Reload Executive comes to mind, but expensive as balls. Also not very Rivendell-esque.

Filson stuff can get pricey like Brooks, but man, there stuff is really high quality. I'm not sure they make anything that necessarily has provisions for traveling on a bike (waist strap, chest strap) but you should check them out.

Still a bit off with the Reload. Dakine is closer but I'm from Hawai`i and Dakine is a creole slang for "the kind," which is used in as a noun for something you don't know or can't explain at the moment. Can't bring myself to have that on a business bag.
And wilth filson prices, Brooks actually looks pretty good. Thank for the suggestions and keep them coming.

The new incase bag is pretty classy looking.
