My Sigma 1606 bike computer fell off my bike as a jetted down a busy road. I went back for it and got there just in time to see it get run over. Bummer. I really liked that computer.

I called Sigma to buy a new head unit. They asked me for he number on the back, and then said "We didn't like the mount on that version. Send it in and we'll replace it."

Is that cool or what? Go Sigma!

The only bummer is that I had about 7400 miles on the odometer, but now I don't know exactly how many. My yearly mileage will now have an *. I may not be eligible for the Hall o' Fame now.

I'd gone a few hundred yards before I realized what happened. As I got back I saw it get run over and flipped into the air. I was thinking, or hoping "That's not it, that's some other something." but I was wrong.

Then I was thinking "I'll fix it! Yeah, like the Taxi777 camera!"
But no....

I have a 1606 as well, I think. Wired version, though. Sorry for your loss. :)

If the circuit board is intact, you might be able to swap it into the new unit and keep your data. With any luck, the plastic body and the LCD took the brunt of the impact.

I had to send it back to get a new one... so no brain transplants will be happening in the lab this time around.

I have some miles I can give you. Aren't they like "rollover" minutes?

What a great idea that opens many doors.
We could do a fund raiser. Everyone could donate miles and then we auction them off!

I don't have miles any more, as my computer broke. But I could donate a flat.
I'll puncture so you don't have to!

How inaccurate do you need to be to get a * ??

You've only got about 3 digit precision with a cyclocomputer anyway so if you're within a hundred miles or so of your pre-destruction estimate you're validated for any official or unofficial data entry.

Plus add in the time the battery died, and when the magnet came loose, and when someone else was riding your bike... it all comes out in the wash.

But always round up and estimate high.
