Does anyone have a good ISIS Drive bottom bracket recommendation? I am not as concerned with weight as I am durrability. I am rather light (150), but have a tendency to beat bikes up. Thank you for your time.

ISIS is ****.
No durability
best you stick to ISO or JIS square taper or for splined Octalink is the only way to go.
Then there is alos hte new Hollowtech II stuff from shimano where the axle and driveside crank are permanently joined and the bearing are ourboard. Very stiff, very durable.
race face has copied this ingenious layout for this year.

FSA Platinum pro ISIS
Truvativ Gigapipe DH
Raceface Evolve FR/DH
Raceface Signature FR/DH
The best isis stuff so far. It is really harsh to call isis total cr@p
Proberly best to aim at the cheaper end, isis bbs are not very durable because the large spindle leaves little room for bearings. Buy one you can afford to replace every 6 or less months.
actually calling ISIS **** is not harsh. 2 BB's in 4 months is **** in my book and I'm not the only who has experienced this lack of durability

The fact that 2 bb's failed you in 4 months doesnt make them crap in general.
Some people share your view, some people say they are durable.
There is no global truth in the arguement that they are crap and there is no global truth in the arguement that they are the best.
TruVativ GigaPipe DH.
Pay no attention to TimB as we've determined that he's on the evil "S"'s payroll. God help you if you say anything negative about Shi*no in his presence no matter how over priced you think thier crap is.

The GigaPipe DH has 4 bearings to combat this.

not really...on average the ISIS BBs are MUCH more expensive then the octalink...not to mention all of the quality square tapers out there...I think the Base Truvativ ISIS BB is like 50 bucks, an ultegra (road...sorry, don't know prices for MTB stuff, ultegra is 2nd to top) is like 30 or so.
I beg to differ. My Kona has an Isis bb that is original to the bike. I'm the second owner, the bike is 2001. I bent a crank arm by pedaling and the bb is still perfect. Isis is much better than square taper, imho.

I have the Truvativ Gigapipe Team SL. It has 3 bearings and has held up well for me. I'm 240lbs and do light to medium free riding with it. My octalink that came with the bike went to crap in a month. Doesn't mean ALL octalinks are bad, just proves that different people can have similar experiences but reversed. ;)
If ISIS is so good why has Chris King refrained from from making one to this std? He says when it'e ready it'llhave a one year waranty and all the quality aspects you can expect from CK.
It's now 2004 and still no CK ISIS BB......
I guess he must have realised that it's impossible to build a a BB meeting those stringent quality demands using the ISIS format.

I dont really care about what CK says. The fact that he didnt make one , doesnt mean that ISIS is bad. CK is a very good company, but that doesnt mean that their decisions imply the ultimate truth for everyone.
If isis is crap for some people, then they can go octalink/xtype/sqtaper. If sqtaper is crap then .... and the same goes for every standard. What i dont like is to call the XXXXX standard or component crap just like that.
