I saw an interesting thing this morning...

I was flying North on Clark, just south if Irving Park, and in the southbound lane, traffic was backed up as usual.

I then see a man in a white van, get out if his van, walk forward 3-4 cars, and WHAM! Bang super hard on the glass and bodywork of a little Honda with a young woman in the driver seat. She's scared ****less!!! And he screams "You hit my van! Pull off to the side before I call the cops!"

I SOOO should have stopped...no matter if this girl hit his van, maybe she didnt know, maybe she didnt care, but this guy was WAY out of line getting out of his car and really scaring the **** out of this young woman...

Damn, I soo should have stopped..I was looking for CPD, but, no luck...he really could have done a number on her...his old ****ty van had no damage, either..

Weird things happen...I certainly sympathize with the Fullerton rider..Ive hit stuff before, never broken anything though..certainly wanted to...

Be safe out there...drivers do it too...

This is exactly why I don't really buy the "If you act out you are just giving other cyclists a bad name" argument. The way I see it motorists in traffic are pissed-off no matter what. They are going to take out their frustration on whatever is convenient. I would say 9 times out of 10 it's other drivers. Yeah, drivers say they hate cyclists, but they also hate the dumba** with his blinker on for ten blocks, and the double-parked FedEx van, and the a-hole that cut them off and then slammed on his brakes, and that freakin' maniac who's driving waaay too fast. Acting like a saint on a bike isn't exactly going to bring harmony to the asphalt. Tweaking a few antennas, isn't really going to make it all that worse.

I left my ten foot pole at home today.

I left my ten foot pole at home today.

So does that mean that you will, or will not, touch this subject?

Because if you left the ten foot pole at home, I'm assuming it means you have nothing to prevent you from replying. That is, since most people won't touch something even with a ten foot pole, I have to think that maybe you are inclined to touch, since you don't have the ten foot pole holding you back? Or is this just begging the question?

Or maybe you are channeling MC Hammer...

Sincerely,

Confused in DC

Could be erotic.

Sorry, out of context reply there. The logic is as follows:

I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. And, since I don't even have my 10 foot pole today, there's no way I'd even get near it.

Logic was supplied by another bunch of internet peeps.
