Yah dude, it was totally brutal. Dude was all bleeding in his mouth and his ear was all swollen.

Man, between bikeforums, dcfixed, and going to the hospital, i could have had my work done and been sleeping by now!

glad you weren't more seriously injured, ry. i'm a bit annoyed with myself about yesterday, but it was still a good time. great course... i especially liked that you could ride everything save for the uphill barriers and the logs. on another positive note, patricia had an awesome race... first time on a real cross bike (well, i built it up last weekend).

This race was awesome!!!

I cramped up pretty bad on my first lap (mens 4), but stuck with it and felt pretty good by the end. Finished still on the lead lap! I thought for sure I had been lapped - some guy came screaming by on the last lap saying "on your left, on your right" so I figured he was the leader.

Frites and beer and cowbells on a warm fall afternoon. Just awesome.

jesus dude. I was wondering where you went. You went down right infront of me but I thought you were ok since i am not used to peope actually getting hurt in cross.

There was lots of crashing in the 123 race almost all of it from the leading 6 riders. Those guys push hard.

One of the 123 guys who was fighting with in the lead group went down pretty hard in the u-shaped turn on the far side of the lake with about 4 laps to go and broke his ankle. He layed there until the race was over, the ambulance was very slow getting there. The on-site EMT had him stabilized and his girlfiend was with him giving comfort.

I hope he's doing OK and it wasnt too bad a break. Maybe someone who knows him can give an update.

See youse at Rockburn.

Friggin' awesome day, friggin' awesome race, friggin' awesome time! Do a race on a great course, then roll up afterwards to a beer, steak frites, and hang out with the whole DC/regional velo scene. Does it get any better? I see this race only getting bigger and better.

Had a great time for myself, finishing 19th in the Cat. 4 race after finishing 44th last year. Also had the pleasure of my new son enjoying the day and the race. Can't wait 'till he's laying down the hurt in the lil' Belgians race.

Lithuania - great to see you on the new bike. I went to snatch my wheels from the pits later on in the day, and I saw your Bianchi hanging on the rack.

Ryan, bummer 'bout the crash. However, I saw the pix of you hopping the barriers - nice!!! Thanks for the support during my race, I was all set to return the favor 'till I saw you riding by with your arm across your chest and though it might not have been a time yell "Go!!!".

And to the rest of you - mad props to everybody who showed up to race, everybody who came out to watch, and everybody who organized/pitched-in/sponsored/opened beers/whatever; this was an awesome event.
