Johnny Cycles Hammerhead. Worth as much as the Pista it's on.
The dangerous and uncomfortable one.
OH CHRIST IM TURNING INTO A NORMAL BFSSFG POSTER MUST BE CAREFUL.
Seriously though, a dangerous and uncomfortable one.
i guess it's appropriate for a Pista seen in midtown in front of an overpriced cafe. :)

i don't like it and i'm sure it's uncomfortable, but what's dangerous about it?
Well if you are anything like me and you cycle any sort of distance or at decent cadence and arnt in the absolute best shape imaginable or a robot, your hands might get sweaty. You might then hit some sort of bump and you know, slip off the bars and impale your chest WITH A SHAAAARK.

Thanks for posting that. Interesting stuff, especially the full stainless 953 CX frame option...
edit: nevermind, pedals were customer's choice

I wasn't referring to the bars comfort and I wouldn't use a bike set up like that for long distance rides. I thought he meant the bars had some sort of mechanical failure to it. Slippery bars, then grip them up. Of course any bar without grips would be slippery. I read the blog he said the bars come with clear Keirin grips FYI. Those bars are stupid ugly for sure.

Those are some seriously fugly bars.
You can buy clear grips, those clearly do not have grips on them. I used to only have my drops wrapped and the first time I rode in the rain I wrapped the rest of the bars. Stuff gets mad slippery. Plus oklahoma roads are notoriously thrashed.

anybody arguing that unwrapped bars isn't dangerous is silly.

also, who the **** would want a 1-piece bar/stem combo that costs more than a good stem and 2-3 sets of bars that you could swap out?
so you can have a mo-fuggin SHARK as handlebars

They look bad, but look even worse with that huge brake lever on it. God those things are awful.

I'm glad you cleared that up, because I had no idea what Brvn meant when he replied to the question "what type of handlebar is this" with "the dangerous one and uncomfortable one." What's so dangerous about them? It's not a real shark...
There is nothing inherently dangerous or uncomfortable about those bars. No bars have grips/tape built it, they all have to have grips/tape installed by someone. These bars can be gripped/taped as easily as any other bars.
it's stuff like this that makes me want to take up metal working again and whip up some bizarre bike components.

I would seriously consider buying those if they didn't cost so much.
The brake lever kills it.

Kinda funny, cause on Johnny's site, it says that "Does NOT work with any brake lever (due to the 1" diameter)"

Word. For me personally they would definitely be uncomfortable. I've tried risers, drops, and my back, neck and arms get sore fast. I have nothing against ppl riding flats/risers or even shark bars, ahah. If you prefer them that's great.
