Very sad. The victim was hit by logging truck; experienced triathlete who owned a store for triathletes.

Tragic indeed. This one struck too close to home for comfort; Chapel Rd is on the scenic loop in Philomath and a regular segment on one of my favorite rides in the mid-valley.

So sad, I've had too many close calls with log trucks, but the last couple years the drivers have shown a bit more care around bikes. We all need to be more defensive, we sure can't count on drivers.
