(A forum search didn't turn up any info on this...)
I have a 2001 Subaru Outback wagon with a Yakima rack system that is attached to the factory roof rack (Lowriders?). I want to put a fairing on it because I get wind howl noise from the rack when driving.
I just got a Yakima fairing at my local REI store. Yakima recommended a 44" fairing, so that's what I got.
I took it out of the box and held it up to my rack to see what it looked like. It extends past the factory rack on both sides, leaving a gap between the fairing and the roof. I was wondering if a shorter fairing that fits between the factory rack rails would make more sense.
Any advice or experience out there?
