Road Cycling - Shoes recommendations...

I know it is like asking what religion would you recommend.. LOL But I have specific issues with my shoes...

Specifically: I use to have Diodoras MTB shows, and later I got me a pair of Shimano (cheap) and now I don't like them. After a 40 miles ride the sole of my foot burns in the pedal area... which leads me to believe I need a stiffer shoe...

So my question is: what road show would you recommend that has a stiff bottom, has 3 or more straps, and is in the $130 range... I wear size 45s....

Do you have anyone around that stocks Exustar? I got mine for $250NZD and have carbon fibre soles...really take some vibrations out. Takes a good few hundred kms to get used to though. Sexy in yellow :D

I got a pair of Diaddora about a month ago for about $140. Pure road shoe. I like them a lot. If those Mountain shoes were good for you maby you should stay w/ Diadorra? I have big feet and tried on many pairs and found that the Diadorra's had a lot of room in the toe box area...

Another SIDI zealot here. Go to your LBS's and try on whichever SIDI is in your price range.

(You can actually get Geniuses for not much more than your price range if you keep your eyes open).

Well, a pair of $250 shoes at $79 is something I can not refuse.. :)
even if they aren't perfect I have to assume that hey are better then my cheapo Nike (yes, they are Nike, not Shimano as I stated in the opening post, Sorry).

Totally agree........why mess with perfection!

it took 2 days to get the shoes!!! great service and they even honored a 10% coupon which kinda expired... (ended up costing $71.00!!!) Very happy with Nashbar..

anyways, those shoes were advertised as "Factory Seconds" and I took some pictures so yall can see what's the defect...

The she feels so good.. excellent support inside.. and the size is perfect...
I had to try them so I run out (in the dark) for a few miles.. and I really like them..

Hushpuppie Thunderpumps - they're not the lightest shoes nor the stiffest but they have a wonderful suede finish.

I have a wider foot and I wear a 45. I really like my specialized road shoes. I have a wider foot and the SIDIs did not work for me.
