So I was originally set on getting a 2009 Giant TCR Advanced frameset and building it up myself but no one in new york city has it yet and I don't think I'll get a very good price on it. Now my buddy that owns a bike shop (not a giant dealer) tells me his distributor can get him 08 Cinelli frames for a great price. He can get me the Cinelli Machine for cheaper than the Giant most likely.

So here's my dilemma. I like the Giant since it's a new model and I think it'll perform great. But the Cinelli should be just as nice for cheaper. Also there are less Cinelli bikes here than Giants, but I don't really see that many Giants anyways. Geometry wise both will have models to fit me. Look wise I prefer the TCR over the Machine.

What are your opinions? Does anyone have experience with Cinellis?

Choosing a bike based on how many you see on the road is dumb.

My opinion, get the cheaper Cinelli and spend the money you save on better wheels.

Well that wasn't my only reason. Just an observation. I like both, and regardless of which I get, I'm getting the same set up, wheels, group, etc. Just wanted to know if anyone had an opinion on cinelli vs giant.
