Just wanted to post this up to all the BFer's hoping that there's some kind of humanity that I can keep faith in out there.

Tonight was Nuit Blanche in Toronto, and my girlfriend and I decided to bike around town to visit all the sites. Me having only two bicycles, and only one lock that would fit over both, had to decide to take my Pedal Force and lock it up with a $20 lock from Canadian tire for a couple minutes outside my condo at the heart of the busy city (my mistake). After meeting with my girlfriend and returning back to get the bikes in 25min, I found the lock cut, and my pedal force stolen. The lock was left there as well as my other cheap canadian tire bike.

I just hope that someone out there may have seen what happened, or if you come across someone selling it, you'll contact me. I'll pay you whatever you paid for it.

And for those who believe that if someone can afford an expensive bike once, they can afford another one, here's a brief bio. I pay $20000 in tuition for grad school a year, which i use lines of credit to pay for, so i'm so far in debt it'll take me years after school to pay it off. I live at home with my recently divorced and forced into retirement mother. And everything on that bike was put together by hand (wheels, parts, everything) and was the fruit of 5 years of savings, gifts from my parents and grandparents, and a whole lot of waiting for cheap parts.

If anyone can help me, that'll be amazing. Sorry for the long winded and cheesy post, but I was hoping that the bike community may be better help and understanding than anyone else right now.

Unfortunately you learned a hard lesson this time, i'll let our shop know to watch out for it in case anyone is stupid enough to bring it in - you don't happen to go or did go to UT did you?

Keep it off CL and privately flyer some of the shops in toronto in case someone is also stupid enough to try and sell it within a short period of time.

Heh yeah I do go to UT. Ride and leave it in front of MSB almost every day. My bad for not using my standard NewYork lock...but I thought <30min and with huge crowds walking in the area for Nuit Blanche it'll be safe for at least 30min...I wonder if bike thefts increased last night with bikers heading out and parking their bikes in the dark?
